Great park. Very spacious and great sites (with concrete slabs and plenty of grass). Our kids loved the pool / slides and used them for hours. It was also the quietest park at night of any other park we stayed at. Campers were all very respectful and considerate of others. We would definitely stay here again!
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at BIG4 Blue Lake Holiday Park in Mount Gambier, and our experience in the Lakeside Villa was nothing short of exceptional.
The Lakeside Villa, our chosen accommodation, was a true luxury haven. The two bedrooms were beautifully appointed, with the main bedroom boasting a comfortable queen-size bed and a stunning designer ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom, equipped with a queen-size bed and a set of single bunks, made it an ideal retreat for a couple with children. The presence of a second bathroom, a well-designed kitchen, and a spacious living area added to the overall comfort and convenience.
The staff at BIG4 Blue Lake Holiday Park deserve special commendation for their outstanding service. Their warmth, friendliness, and eagerness to assist made our stay truly memorable. They were always ready to provide helpful recommendations and ensured that we felt welcomed throughout our time at the park.
The location of the holiday park couldn't have been more perfect. Nestled in the heart of Mount Gambier, it offered easy access to the town's attractions. However, what truly stole the show was the proximity to the Blue Lake. The stunning views of the lake were a constant delight, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop to our stay.
In conclusion, our experience at BIG4 Blue Lake Holiday Park exceeded all expectations. The Lakeside Villa provided a luxurious and comfortable retreat, the staff went above and beyond, the location was ideal, and the views of the Blue Lake were simply breathtaking. We highly recommend this holiday park to anyone seeking a perfect blend of luxury, hospitality, and natural beauty.
Thank you, BIG4 Blue Lake Holiday Park, for making our family getaway truly unforgettable.
Stayed in one of the cottages for 2- very comfortable, cosy, generous size, newly renovated throughout with everything that we needed, and very good value for money. Fully functional kitchen with oven, cooktop, microwave, small dining table …
We stayed in one of the villas and it was great. Plenty of room and a decent lounge room. Loved the clean Webber bbq on the decking that I used a few times and the option to get fresh towels if needed. We didn’t use any shared facilities so I cannot comment on that. Great location and the indoor pool was the winner and main reason we chose that park.
We stayed there during peak period but it was not full. The place was too crowded and we had a small area just enough for a gazebo and tent. Our site was so closed to other campers or caravans. The amenities cannot meet the demand. Not enough washing machines/dryers (only 4) and dish washing areas as well as 1 kitchen with only one fridge for so many campers. Please consider having more to meet the demand.
Such a pretty park, with beautiful gardens, very well spread out. We had a powered site, close to amenities. Amenities had new rain showers which were wonderful. Great location across the road from Blue Lake with fabulous walks. So much for kids to do & the new indoor pool park was very popular.
Lock up your Stuff!!! This park is a thief’s delight!! A supermarket for them, with zero security or chance of being caught. They wander through Blue Lake freely taking what they choose.
On our first night of a 3 night stay our kids prized possessions, their mountain bikes were stolen from our caravan site. We’d normally lock them up but one of the kids ended up in hospital the first night after an injury on the jumping pillow. Amongst the chaos we didn’t lock up the bikes and found in the morning they were gone.
After speaking to multiple staff the same line was repeated “it won’t be anyone staying here, it will be kids”.
This led me to believe it had happened before which was soon reinforced by the local police after we reported the theft. The local police stated that it had been a regular occurance at Blue Lake for the previous 3 months and they should be doing more to make people aware.
They have no CCTV to speak of except the main gate. The park backs onto a public golf course giving the public free reign to come and go as they please.
As disappointing as all of this was, the reaction of the staff only made it worse with little to no regard or empathy shown. I stopped past on the way out to give them one last chance to respond. Unfortunately It didn’t get any better.
I spent the following 2 nights after the theft, awake from 2-7am to help my kids sleep.
Given how expensive the park is, a great deal more could (and should) be done to ensure guests safety.
Im sure the park will respond as they did in person, with something along the lines of “all parks have thieves” or something similar. We’ve stayed at many parks, free camps, rec reserves etc & have never felt as unsafe and exposed as we did here.
Beautiful park and garden great swimming pool but not warm enough to use it November.
Unfortunately we had a ensuite site and was nothing like the picture shown in the website.
We paid extra for ensuite and it was awful. I do understand they are fixing up the park but it was disappointing to see the ensuite that was renovated was empty while we were there.
Neat park, new pool, nice landscaping.
Pool not suitable for very young kids.
Staff very very nice. Nicest we’ve ever had. …
So beautiful. Cabins absolutely gorgeous and spacious. Kitchen facility awesome. Etc etc best accommodation most definitely.
Highly recommend it
